iPhone 15: Everything You Need to Know About Apple’s Upcoming Smartphone

2 min

Apple is gearing up for the release of its new generation of smartphones, the iPhone 15 series. Although there are still several months left before the official presentation, there are already many rumors and information about its features, design, price, and release date. In this article, we will cover everything known so far about the iPhone 15 and its variants.

Models and Names

Apple is expected to launch four different iPhone 15 models: the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. These names follow the pattern of previous generations, although there is a rumor that Apple might change the name of the base model to iPhone 15 Ultra. This supposed change could be due to the iPhone 15 having some exclusive features that set it apart from the rest.

Design

The design of the iPhone 15 won’t change much compared to the iPhone 14, maintaining flat edges and a notch at the top of the screen. However, there are some details that could change based on available leaks and renders. For example, the iPhone 15 is said to have a larger screen (from 6.1 to 6.4 inches), a Dynamic Island (a touch-sensitive area at the bottom of the screen for quick access to functions), and a dual-lens front camera. Additionally, the iPhone 15 could have a curved body similar to the old iPhone 5C, giving it a more youthful and colorful appearance.

Features

The technical aspects of the iPhone 15 will also bring some interesting innovations. Apple is expected to incorporate the A17 Bionic chip into its new phones, a more powerful and efficient processor than the current A16 Bionic. The iPhone 15 is also rumored to have a larger battery (around 3,000 mAh), a ProMotion display (which adapts the refresh rate according to content), and an always-on display (showing basic information without turning on the entire screen).

Regarding cameras, the iPhone 15 is said to have a triple-lens rear camera (wide-angle, ultra-wide-angle, and telephoto) and a dual-lens front camera (standard and ultra-wide-angle). Moreover, the iPhone 15 Pro Max could incorporate a periscopic camera allowing up to 10x optical zoom. Another notable update is that all iPhone 15 models would have a 48-megapixel main camera, a significant improvement from the current 12 megapixels.

Price and Release Date

The price and release date of the iPhone 15 are not yet officially confirmed by Apple, but some estimates can be made based on the company’s history. The iPhone 15 is most likely to be unveiled in September or October of this year, coinciding with Apple’s usual smartphone refresh cycle. As for the price, the iPhone 15 is expected to have a similar cost to the iPhone 14, meaning around €1,000 for the base model and up to €1,600 for the Pro Max model. However, these prices could vary depending on storage capacity, color, and market.
